Key Features

Wide ratio range with tiered accuracy

Measures turns ratio and voltage ratio from 0.9 to 10000 with ±0.1 % accuracy at 0.9–500, ±0.2 % at 501–2000 and ±0.5 % at 2001–10000.

Variable test voltage 0–160 V

Excitation level can be adjusted to suit the transformer under test for stable, repeatable results.

Automatic connection & vector-group test

Automatically identifies the winding connection and tests the vector group of three-phase transformers — no manual connection setup.

Three-phase precision inverter power supply

Clean, precise excitation for more accurate ratio measurement.

7-inch touch-screen operation

A simple user interface provides quick test setup and immediate results.

On-board storage, USB download & built-in printer

Up to 1000 data sets stored on board; results can be printed directly or transferred via USB.

Integrated protection

High/low-voltage reverse-connection protection and transformer inter-turn short-circuit protection for safe field use.

Portable rugged enclosure

Compact case at 5.9 kg with a 360 × 290 × 170 mm footprint for easy transport.

Applications

Factory acceptance & commissioning

Ratio verification of single- and three-phase distribution and power transformers per IEC 60076 / IEEE C57.12.90.

Routine maintenance

Detection of wrong taps, shorted turns, open windings and connection errors during scheduled testing.

OLTC ratio verification

Voltage-ratio checks across on-load tap-changer positions.

Vector-group & connection checks

Winding-connection identification and vector-group testing of three-phase transformers.

Post-repair & post-transport testing

Verification after overhaul, repair or relocation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a transformer turns-ratio (TTR) test tell you?

It measures the ratio of the number of turns (and therefore the voltage ratio) between the high-voltage and low-voltage windings and compares it with the nameplate ratio at each tap position. A deviation indicates a wrong tap connection, shorted or open turns, incorrect winding connections or an OLTC fault.

Which test standards does the TTR-400 follow?

The TTR-400 follows IEC 60076 and IEEE C57.12.90 for power-transformer ratio testing.

Can the TTR-400 test three-phase transformers?

Yes. It tests both single-phase and three-phase distribution and power transformers, with automatic winding-connection identification and vector-group testing.

How are test results managed?

Up to 1000 data sets are stored on board. Results can be printed directly with the built-in printer or downloaded to a PC via the USB interface.
