What advantage does the VLF-45TD's higher voltage give over the VLF-34TD?

The 45 kV peak output extends coverage to cable classes up to roughly 25 kV, whereas the 34 kV model is aimed at 5–15 kV cable. The higher rating also provides margin when the specified test voltage is above 34 kV.

How does the integrated tan-delta unit help with maintenance planning?

By measuring tan delta at several voltage steps, the instrument detects the voltage-dependent loss that indicates water-tree ageing. Circuits can be ranked by condition so maintenance effort is directed at the cables most at risk.

Can the VLF-45TD test VLF and DC in one session?
