CE-tested 80 kV peak design widely specified by international cable contractors and rental fleets.
A controlled VLF overvoltage makes weak insulation and defective joints break down during the test so they can be repaired before the cable returns to service.
80 kV peak output for medium/high-voltage shielded power cable circuits within its rating.
Up to 5.5 µF at 0.01 Hz keeps full voltage on long, high-capacitance feeders.
Sinusoidal polarity-reversing waveform appropriate for modern XLPE/EPR insulation.
4 kg controller plus 50 kg high-voltage tank, built for frequent transport.
IEEE 400.2-2013 pass/fail on the 7-inch touch screen, stored internally and printed without a PC.
Periodic VLF proof testing of medium/high-voltage shielded power cables.
Verification of large cable circuits after installation or repair work.
Proof testing of long distribution and sub-transmission feeder circuits.
Cable handover testing for contractors and rental-fleet operations.
Utility and industrial cable ageing-management programs.
The VLF-80 output is quoted as peak kV (80 kV peak). IEEE 400.2 field-test voltages for shielded cable are expressed as multiples of the cable's phase-to-earth voltage U0 (about 2×U0 for maintenance and up to 3×U0 for acceptance). Compare the required test level against the set's peak rating directly — never multiply the kV figure by √2.
It performs VLF withstand testing on any shielded cable whose specified test voltage is within its 80 kV peak rating. Acceptance testing of higher system classes whose required test voltage exceeds the rating needs a higher-rated host; for such circuits the VLF-80 is applied at the appropriate maintenance/routine test level. Confirm the required test voltage for your cable class with the applicable specification.
Yes. The robust two-piece design (controller + 50 kg tank) has been through CE testing and is sized for frequent transport. Setup is quick: connect the high-voltage and return leads, then operate entirely from the touch screen.
No. Results are interpreted automatically, stored internally and printed by the built-in thermal printer, so a complete field record is produced on site without a laptop.
